The National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan began a training course on the topic “international standards for the observance and protection of human rights: practice and reporting.”

The four-day training is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This important event is held within the framework of the national educational program in the field of human rights, approved by the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated February 7, 2023. The purpose of this is the effective and timely implementation of the tasks defined by the UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and the fourth phase of the UN World Education Program.

Representatives of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan also take part in this training course.

The sessions began with a video message from UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

A video message from the First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights Akmal Saidov was also heard.

It was noted that this event is a tool for promoting and strengthening human rights in the country, as well as one of the important steps in the implementation of the National Educational Program in this area. It was separately noted that the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, adopted in a new edition, was supplemented in full accordance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and it strengthened the protection of human rights at a high level.

An independent practical lesson was also conducted for the participants of the training course. At the same time, specialists from the National Center provided detailed information about training courses on the electronic platform for training in the field of human rights.

Students of the training program are specialists from government bodies and organizations actively involved in the implementation of Uzbekistan’s international obligations in the field of human rights. More than 20 responsible employees participate in offline and online training.
