From October 6 to 12 of this year, a seminar and meetings on the theme "Expanding Opportunities for Youth in Digital Economy and Digital Entrepreneurship" were held in Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany, to study Germany's experience in this field.
All seminars and meetings in Germany were jointly organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) office in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Satimov Ma’mur Allayorovich, head of the Department of Business Environment Surveys and Entrepreneurship Statistics of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in the seminar and meetings.
The main objective of the seminar and meetings was to gain a deeper understanding of Germany's most active and sustainably developing small business sector.
During the sessions, it was highlighted that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a critical role in Germany’s employment, with around 60% of the working population employed in this sector, and over 99% of registered companies classified as SMEs.
Discussions also covered the key factors contributing to the high activity and efficiency of SMEs in Germany, including the support provided by the government and other entities. Furthermore, the seminar focused on effective interest rates for small business loans, underscoring the importance of accessible financing for SMEs in Germany.
