On February 5 of this year, an online seminar was organized at the Statistics Agency to ensure the implementation of the tasks defined in the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 4, 2024 No. PP-114 "On measures to organize the activities of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan," as well as within the framework of the preparation and consideration of regulatory documents of the 56th session of the UN Statistical Commission, which will be held on March 4-7, 2025.
The main purpose of the seminar was to consult and review practical guidelines on the preparation of the 2020 and 2030 World Population and Housing Census Programmes.
The main purpose of the Seminar was attended by the Head of the Department of Organization and Methodology of Statistical Works – Dilshod Zakirov, Head of the Department for the Organization and Conduct of Census Processes – Sheraliev Nurbek, the Head of the Department for International Cooperation and Data Exchange – Ulugbek Noipov, the Deputy Head of the Department for the Organization and Conduct of Census Processes – Dusnaev Sherzod, and responsible heads of the division and specialists of the Department for the Organization and Conduct of Census Processes.
Recall that the United Nations Statistical Commission, established in 1947, is the highest body of the global statistical system. Commission brings together the heads of statistical offices of UN member states from all over the world. Commission is the main decision-making body in the field of international statistical activities, in particular, the development of statistical standards, concepts and methodologies and their implementation internationally and nationally. Commission is also a functional commission of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOS), helping the council to develop national statistical systems and ensure the comparability of National Statistics, coordinate the activities of UN specialized statistics agencies in and improve statistics and methodology.
The workshop was attended by experts from the statistical offices of UN member states.
