On September 8-12, 2025, a meeting was organized in Tbilisi, Georgia, for employees of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan to exchange experience.
During the meeting, Geostat specialists shared their experience and work practices with Uzbek colleagues. This visit serves to strengthen cooperation and exchange knowledge between the statistical organizations of the two countries.
Meetings were organized in two working groups. The main group discussed strategic issues - planning and coordination of statistical work, improving data quality, and using alternative data sources.
Meanwhile, the second group examined statistical sectors such as industry, trade, agriculture, services, investments, demography, and labor statistics.
Geostat department staff presented Georgia's best practices to the committee delegation members. They were also familiarized with modern survey methods and existing practices for data collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination.
