On September 17 of this year, the National Statistics Committee held the next "Best Reader" competition in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-60 dated January 28, 2022 "On the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026," the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 781 dated December 14, 2022 "On Approval of the National Program for the Development and Support of Reading Culture for 2020-2025," and the Committee's Order No. 96 dated May 13, 2023 on developing reading culture, acquiring modern knowledge, increasing work productivity, and enhancing employee culture.
The event was attended by employees of the central office and the Working Group on Reading Literacy Assessment.
The competition was conducted in 2 stages: the 1st stage consisted of test questions, while in the 2nd stage, participants spoke about the work they had read, followed by a question-and-answer session with the Reading Literacy Assessment Working Group.
Based on the participants' discussions about the books they read and their answers to the questions, the Working Group on Reading Literacy Assessment determined the winners.
The winners of the "Best Reader" competition were:
Avazova Gullola, employee of the Department of Social Statistics - third place;
Narzullayev Fazliddin, employee of the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Statistics - second place;
Ismailova Shaxnoza, head of the department for compiling summary analytical data on price statistics - first place. The winners were awarded commemorative gifts.
