On November 5 of this year, a meeting was held at the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Mission in Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Z. Ziyoyev, responsible staff members of the central office, Andrew Gray, Head of the IOM Mission in Uzbekistan, and other representatives.
During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in implementing the Population and Agricultural Census, and signed a Roadmap and a bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation for joint activities in this field.
Under the signed Roadmap, the parties agreed to support the promotion of population and agricultural census activities, raise public awareness, and conduct research studies. To this end, joint awareness campaigns will be organized, banners and video clips will be prepared, and competitions will be held among journalists and bloggers. International experts will also be engaged in the development of the “Demographic Atlas of Uzbekistan.”
Furthermore, the parties agreed to further expand their cooperation, introduce modern information technologies into the census process, and exchange international experience.
