According to the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the number of specialist researchers engaged in research and development (R&D) activities in Uzbekistan amounted to 43.1 thousand in 2025.
This was 9.5 thousand, or 28.3%, more than in 2024.
Of the total, women accounted for 17.4 thousand researchers (40.4%), while men accounted for 25.7 thousand (59.6%).
In 2025, a total of UZS 1,680.6 billion was spent on research and development activities. This was UZS 106.5 billion, or 6.8%, more than in 2024.
