On April 29, 2021, a training session on state participation in the economy and foreign trade was held in the videoconference mode, as part of the negotiations on accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
This training is carried out in preparation for the 5th meeting of the working group on Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO. At the moment, the responsible authorities are working to address systemic issues of the country's foreign trade regime, including the formation of a position on state participation in the economy.
At the training, international expert, consultant of the International Trade Center V. Ognivtsev held consultations on public procurement, pricing and privatization issues, discussed state trading enterprises, presented the experience of the United States and EU countries in matters of the legislative framework for determining the criteria of a market economy, and their impact on the situation countries in the WTO.
The training was attended by Batir Irgashev - Head of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity and Trade of the State Statistics Committee.
As a result of the presentations, a discussion of possible further scenarios of negotiations on Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other related issues took place.
