At the music school No. 18 of the Ellikkala region of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, a seminar was held on the topic “Preparation for the population census”.

On January 26, 2021, a videoconference meeting was held between specialists of the Department of monitoring and coordination of the open data portal of the State Committee on Statistics, the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of the Republic of Uzbekistan and an expert of the World Bank on the formation of indicators in the database of world development indicators that are absent in the database of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

According to the results of January-December 2020, the foreign trade turnover of the republic amounted to 36,299. 3 million US dollars and compared to 2019 decreased by 5,451.7 million US dollars, or 13.1%.

On July 24, 2019, a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On conducting a Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2020-2021” was adopted.

In the Ferghana region, an event was organized to prepare for the multi-indicator cluster surveys (MICS). Deputy Head of the Department of Statistics of the Social Sphere and Sustainable Development of the State Committee on Statistics Jahongir Kambarov provided the participants with a detailed introduction to MICS.

In recent years, the country has paid special attention to the popularization of physical culture and sports, and the wide promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population.

According to the State Committee on Statistics, 1.0 million tons of motor gasoline were produced in 2020.

Thorough preparations are under way for the upcoming population census in 2023.

The number of foreign citizens who visited the Republic of Uzbekistan for tourism in January-December 2020 amounted to 1 504.1 thousand people*. Compared to the same period in 2019, this indicator decreased by 77.7%.

According to the State Committee on Statistics, in January - December 2020, market services in the amount of 218 853.5 billion soums were provided in the republic. The nominal volume of market services increased by 25,155.7 billion soums. 

The share of small businesses in GDP in January-December 2020 was 53.9%.
