Responsible persons of the government, ministries and departments, as well as foreign experts of the World Bank were involved in the process. The legislation of the CIS countries, Asia and Europe, as well as law enforcement practice in relation to the official statistics of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other states were studied.

The new law consists of 7 chapters and 44 articles, radically different from our previous law, and we can see the main points and innovations in the following:

First, a new concept is introduced into practice, that is, the concept of official statistics. The law establishes that official statistics consists of statistical data characterizing economic, demographic, social, financial, environmental phenomena and processes in the Republic of Uzbekistan and other phenomena and processes that are prepared and disseminated in accordance with the provisions of this Law.

From now on, any statistical information not prepared in accordance with the provisions of this law cannot be recognized as official, and with the help of this concept, it will be possible to clearly distinguish between official and non-normative statistical information in the national information space.

Also, during the round table, opinions were expressed on the work carried out in our country in the field of agricultural and environmental statistics. Head of the Department of Agriculture and Ecology Statistics of the State Statistics Committee Gulomov Shovkat Abdurakhmonovich made a report on this topic.
