At a meeting on measures to improve national statistics chaired by the head of state on June 1, 2020, the issue of human resources was raised, and instructions were given to train and improve the skills of all specialists in the statistical system.
On the basis of a specific plan established by the State Statistics Committee, a systematic training program was developed and approved for employees of the committee's central office and territorial statistical offices.
Based on this schedule, online seminars were organized in 2020-2021 to improve the skills of the system's employees and further enhance their knowledge and capabilities in this area.
The next videoconference, organized on August 19, 2022 by the Department of Organization and Methodology of Statistical Works, became a logical continuation of building the capacity of the system. The videoconference was attended by employees of the State Statistics Committee and representatives of territorial statistical offices.
At the event, an exchange of views took place on the implementation of the national strategy for the development of statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2025, as well as issues of providing users with statistical data at a high level. In particular, the head of the department made a presentation on the topic "Introduction of one of the advanced quality management systems GAMSO to the activity". The presentation explained in detail about the GAMSO model, its history, components and importance.
At the end of the webinar, achievements and shortcomings in this area were discussed, and practical suggestions and recommendations were provided to employees of territorial statistical offices.
