Language is a symbol, property, spirit of the state, cultural and spiritual wealth of the nation, culture, traditions of the people, their way of life, history.

On October 21, 1989, the law “On the State Language” was adopted, establishing the legal foundations of the state language, in accordance with which the Uzbek language was given the status of the state language. Our native language, one of the sacred values of our people, has received its legal status and protection.


Also on April 10, 2020, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On the Establishment of the Day of the Uzbek Language Holiday”. According to the law, October 21 is the Day of the Uzbek language.


Today, on October 21, a literary and educational event dedicated to this holiday was held in the capital on the Alley of Writers.

On the occasion of the holiday, a group of employees of the State Committee on Statistics laid flowers at the foot of the monument to Alisher Navoi.

Taking this opportunity, on behalf of the team of the State Committee on Statistics, we congratulate all compatriots on the holiday of the Uzbek language.
