On December 7, 2022, the State Statistics Committee held an event under the mottos “16 days against violence!”, “We are against violence!”, dedicated to November 25 - the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, declared by the UN General Assembly.
The event was held in order to ensure the implementation of paragraph 16, Appendix 2, of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further accelerate work on systemic support for families and women."
At the event, the essence and content of the Law “On Guarantees of Equal Rights and Opportunities for Women and Men”, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other legal documents were widely explained.
During the event, an exchange of views took place on issues of protecting the rights and interests of women, preventing violence against them, further raising the status of women in society, ensuring gender equality.
Challenges were organized through social networks on the topic “We are supporters of protecting women from oppression and violence!” , "We are against violence!".
