As of October 1, 2021, the number of sheep and goats in the republic reached 23,308.8 thousand heads.
The main part of the livestock of sheep and goats was observed in dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms - 18,591.8 thousand heads, or 79.8% of the total livestock.
A significant share of the total number of sheep and goats falls on the Kashkadarya region (20.8%). At the same time, an increase in the number of sheep and goats was recorded in Samarkand (11.1%), Surkhandarya (10.7%) and Navoi (10.4%) regions.
