For information: The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) was established on March 28, 1947. The headquarters of the commission is located in Bangkok. ESCAP is the largest of the five UN regional commissions in terms of geographical coverage and population. The Commission consists of 53 voting countries, including eight CIS countries (Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan). By the decision of the 8th session of the ESCAP Statistical Committee, whose meeting was held on August 23-25, 2022 in Bangkok (Thailand), Bakhodir Abdusalomovich Begalov was elected Deputy Chairman of the Bureau of the ESCAP Committee on Statistics.

The meeting was attended by members of the Bureau of the ESCAP Committee on Statistics, in particular the Chairman of the Bureau, Mr. Batdavaa Batmunkh (Mongolia), Vice-Chairmen of the Bureau, Ms. Maria Musudroka (Fiji), Mr. Gobinda Prasad Samanta (India), other members of the Bureau consisting of: Ms. Piyanuch Wuttisorn (Thailand), Mr. En Chuan Koh (Singapore), and Ms. Rachel Beeven - Director of the UNESCAP Statistics Division, representatives of the Secretariat of the UNESCAP Committee on Statistics and other responsible persons.
