According to preliminary data, the total number of sheep and goats in the republic as of January 1, 2023 reached 23,623.7 thousand heads, this figure compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 102.8%.
A significant share of the total number of sheep and goats falls on the Kashkadarya region (20.8%). At the same time, high rates of sheep and goats were noted in Samarkand (11.0%) and Surkhandarya (10.7%) regions.
