As of January 1, 2023, in all categories of farms in the Surkhandarya region, the total number of cattle amounted to 1,044.9 thousand heads (102.1% in relation to January 1, 2022), of which cows - 400.6 thousand heads (101.1%), sheep and goats - 2,535.4 thousand heads (102.3%), horses - 16.2 thousand heads ( 104.6%) and birds - 5,128.2 thousand heads (100.4%).
