On April 27 of this year, an expanded meeting of the Board was held at the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan following the results of the first quarter of 2023. It was attended by the leadership of the Agency for Statistics, the leadership of the Institute for Advanced Training and Statistical Research, heads of sectoral and territorial Departments of Statistics, as well as employees of territorial Departments of Statistics via remote video communication.


According to the agenda, the Director of the Statistics Agency Bakhodir Abdusalomovich Begalov, opening the meeting of the Board, spoke about the tasks assigned to the state statistics bodies in the documents and instructions of the President and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the effectiveness of the work carried out in the system in the first quarter of 2023.


Also at the meeting, in accordance with the agenda, on the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve and develop the national system of statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated August 3, 2020 and the “National Strategy for the Development of Statistics for 2020–2025”, information was provided on tasks assigned to the bodies of state statistics.


At an organized online meeting, instructions were given on the work carried out within the framework of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated November 11, 2020 No. 710 “On measures to prepare and conduct a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023”, priority tasks for ensuring the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “ About the population census.
There was also an exchange of views on the content and significance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On official statistics”, changes and concepts introduced by the law into practice.

Following the meeting of the Board, organizational issues and executive discipline were considered. It was also decided to take appropriate measures in relation to employees who did not fulfill their duties in a timely manner and to encourage employees whose work is roughly adjusted.
