On June 15 this year, a meeting was organized at the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the mission of the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women "UN Women".
The event was attended by Ms. Elisa Fernandez Saenz, Deputy Regional Director of UN Women for Europe and Central Asia and Ms. Ceren Güven Güres, Country Program Manager in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the meeting was chaired by Zohidjan Ziyaev, Deputy Director of the Agency of Statistics.
During the meeting, discussions took place on opportunities for increased participation of UN Women in measures to accelerate the implementation of the National Gender Strategy and the preparation of an initial roadmap for joint efforts and other issues of cooperation.
The parties agreed to strengthen further cooperation.
