On January 23, 2024, an online meeting with representatives of the World Bank was held at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the project “Strengthening the statistical system in Uzbekistan”.
The meeting was attended by the head of the central office of the Statistics Agency, as well as members of the World Bank working group - Ikuko Uochi and other experts.
The purpose of the mission was to discuss further steps in the implementation of the project “Strengthening the statistical system in Uzbekistan”, further steps and an action plan, as well as the work carried out to calculate the poverty level.
Let us recall that in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 3, 2020 No. PP - 4796, the “National Strategy for the Development of Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2025”, developed with the support of World Bank experts, was approved.
Also during the meeting, employees of the Department of Living Standards Statistics and Population Surveys discussed with the World Bank expert Mr. Avralta - Odom Purevjav the calculation of the poverty level for 2023, completion dates and current status.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue cooperation within the framework of this project.
