On January 30 of this year, an extended meeting of the Board on the results of 2023 was held at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was attended by the leadership of the Statistics Agency, representatives of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Statistical Research, heads of the central office, as well as employees of territorial statistics departments via remote video communication.
According to the agenda, Director of the Statistics Agency Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich, opening the meeting of the Board, spoke about the tasks assigned to the statistical authorities in documents and instructions of the President and Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as about the effectiveness of the work carried out in the system during 2023.
Also at the meeting, in accordance with the agenda, on the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve and develop the national statistics system of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated August 3, 2020 and the “National Strategy for the Development of Statistics for 2020–2025” information was provided on tasks assigned to statistical bodies.
The issue of generated statistical indicators of the socio-economic situation of districts and cities was also discussed. The Director of the Statistics Agency gave employees special instructions on aspects that should be paid attention to in the process of forming and analyzing the socio-economic indicators of the territory. Timely updating of tables representing macroeconomic indicators of districts and cities was noted.
He also gave separate instructions to improve the efficiency of timely, high-quality receipt of statistical reporting of microfirms and small enterprises for 2023 “1 – KB annual” and economic activities “1 – FH annual”.
Following the meeting of the Board, organizational issues and executive discipline were considered. Also, it was decided to reward employees who performed their work approximately, and appropriate measures were taken against employees who did not fulfill their duties in a timely manner.
