On January 26-28 of this year, IT Park, the Co-ordinator of OSCE projects in Uzbekistan, Virtual Group, Statistics Agency and the Anti-Corruption Agency organized the Open Data Challenge hackathon at New Uzbekistan University.

The Open Data Challenge is an annual competition dedicated to the development of technological solutions using open data.

The hackathon is aimed at developing and increasing citizens' interest in the use of open data.

The goals of the competition are to realize the socio-economic potential of state and municipal open data, form a professional community on this topic, develop the relevant powers of state and municipal authorities and hackathon participants.

210 people (80 percent of them boys and 20 percent girls) participated in the competition.

Each of the teams worked on their project in the following directions:

- Public sector;

- Social sector;

- Business sector;

- Anti-corruption sector.

“Demo Day” - 42 teams out of 73 made it to the final presentation, which indicates the high level of preparation and professionalism of the participants.

Demo Day was held in two stages, after which the best projects in each direction were selected.

According to the evaluation results of the jury, the following teams became the winners of the hackathon:

In the Social sector:

1st place: Single Team;

2nd place: MMA Team;

3rd place: Dots team.

In the anti-corruption sector:

1st place: Plexus Team;

2nd place: JIR Team;

3rd place: ClockChain Team.

In the business sector:

1st place: Uzbek Sado Team;

2nd place: GuidMeTech Team;

3rd place: SunnyDevs Team.

In the public sector:

1st place: Imba Team;
