On February 9 of this year, a meeting was held at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to develop additional indicators of gender equality within the framework of projects implemented jointly with the Hydrometeorological Service Agency under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Program.
The event was attended by the project manager for organizational issues, NAP project manager Nadezhda Gavrilenko, project employee on “Climate Change and Sustainability in Central Asia” Guzalkhon Maksudovna and employees of the Agency’s central office.
The meeting also discussed the issue of developing indicators aimed at gender equality in the development of national programs, strategies and in the process of planning and implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
At the end of the meeting, Agency staff presented information about the Sustainable Development Goals and gender statistics indicators, sources of their formation, methodological aspects and competence of the Statistics Agency in this area.
