As we reported earlier, on June 5-7 of this year in the city of Samarkand, the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) department continues the regional seminar "Industrial Statistics" within the framework of the project "Development of statistical indicators for improving industrial statistics and analysis of industrial development in some countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia".

It is attended by responsible employees and experts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The director of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Begalov Bahadir Abdusalomovich took part in the seminar, noting that in recent years, important laws and decisions have been adopted in our country for the development of the field of statistics. This, in turn, increases the openness and transparency of statistical data, increases the possibility of comparison, comparison of statistical indicators at the international level, and is of great importance for further improvement of the methodology for the formation of statistical indicators based on the recommendations of international organizations.

The issues of introducing modern ICT into the sphere, conducting statistical observations entirely through tablets, interdepartmental exchange of information, and integration processes were also touched upon.

The head of the agency wished success to the seminar, noting the importance of the presentations, proposals, and recommendations made at this international seminar on the development of industrial statistics.

Following the seminar, priority tasks were identified that are being implemented within the framework of the project to implement the best practices of participating states into practice, and to study the experience of developed countries in forming a multifactor index of labor productivity in industry.
