This event is held in accordance with paragraph 27 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 21, 2024 No. 37 “On the state program for the implementation of the Strategy “Uzbekistan-2030” in the “Year of Support for Youth and Business” representatives of the general public and environmental activists in order to reduce the harmful effects of exhaust emissions gases from cars on the environment are obliged to ensure the movement of cars (public transport, special and emergency services) in the city of Tashkent within one working day of each month in accordance with the proposal for the implementation of the public project “Day without a car”.
As part of this day, many events will be organized aimed at reducing the traffic of private cars, promoting among the population the benefits of using public transport and bicycles, as well as the benefits of walking.
In this regard, the event "Day without a car" was held in Tashkent on July 24 this year.
The staff of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan also took an active part in this event.
The main goal of the “Car Free Day” event is to attract public attention to the issues of promoting a healthy lifestyle, as well as to the issues of protecting the environment from harmful gases emitted by cars, reducing traffic jams in large cities, and developing a public transport system.
