On 11-13 September 2024, the delegation of the Statistics Agency took part in the European Neighbourhood Policy High-Level Seminar for the Eastern Region and Central Asia on “Statistical leadership in the new data ecosystem: building up and managing relations with data holders, other producers of official statistics, and users” in Belgrade, Serbia.

During the seminar, such important issues of improving statistical activities were discussed as: the latest changes in the statistical system of the European Union, including amendments to the regulation of the Code of Practice of European Statistics, best practices for coordinating the national statistical system and evaluating activities, managing relationships with administrative and private data holders, relationships with users of official statistics, as well as establishing effective statistical cooperation.

Also, during the seminar, the participating countries shared their achievements in the field of modernizing their statistical systems, including legislative frameworks, establishing mutual cooperation with both the international statistical community and NNS of other countries, as well as with other data producers and users.

The delegation of the Statistics Agency acquainted the participants of the seminar with the latest achievements in the field of statistics, within the framework of the administrative reforms of the "New Uzbekistan", the results achieved and plans for the future.

The reforms and achievements of Uzbekistan on the path to creating an advanced national statistical system that meets modern requirements were highly appreciated by the participants of the seminar and international organizations such as the UNECE, Eurostat and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
