On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of independence of Uzbekistan, in order to ensure the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 5, 2021 No. PP-5282 “On measures for the further development of sports walking, running, mini-football, badminton, streetball and “Workout”, as well as supporting employees of the statistics system, promoting a healthy lifestyle, a mini-football tournament “Director's Cup” was launched between the central office and territorial offices of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The opponents in this tournament were determined by drawing lots under the supervision of the sports propagandist of the Statistics Agency and were held with the involvement of a referee according to the rules of the game of mini-football.
On September 19, 2024, mini-football games were held in the Tashkent city, in which teams consisting of employees of the statistical departments of the Syrdarya, Tashkent regions and the city of Tashkent and the central office of the Statistics Agency took part.
In the first qualifying match, the team of the Syrdarya Region Statistics Department won 2:1 over the team of the Tashkent Region Statistics Department. Then, the team of the central office of the Statistics agency defeated the team of the Tashkent City Statistics Department with a score of 7:0.
In the final match of the qualifying round, the team of the Central office of the Statistics agency beat the team of the Syrdarya Region Statistics Department with a score of 5:2 and advanced to the semi-final stage of the tournament.
Teams that took an active part in the competition were awarded with certificates of honor and memorable gifts.
The next matches of the tournament will be held on September 20 of this year in Fergana city between the teams of the Statistical Departments of of Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions.
