This event is based on paragraph 27 of the Decree No. 37 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 21, 2024 on the implementation of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" strategy in the "Year of Youth and Business Support" by representatives of the general public and environmental activists. in order to reduce the harmful effects of exhaust gases, it is being implemented in accordance with the proposal to implement the "Car-Free Day" public project, which aims to reduce the traffic of cars (except for public transport, special and emergency services) for one working day of the month in the city of Tashkent.
Within the framework of this day, many activities aimed at reducing traffic in private cars, promoting the benefits of using public transport and cycling and walking among the population will be organized.
In this regard, on September 25 of this year, the "Car-Free Day" event is being held in Tashkent.
The team of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan also took an active part in this event.
The main purpose of the "Car Free Day" event is to promote a healthy lifestyle, as well as to draw public attention to the issues of protecting the environment from harmful gases emitted by cars, reducing vehicle traffic in large cities, and developing the public transport system.
