On October 7, 2024, a meeting with representatives of the World Bank was held at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the project "Improving the statistical system in Uzbekistan".
The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Ziyaev Zohijon Muratovich and heads of Departments of the central office, also from the World Bank, Obert Pimkhidzai, Ikuko Uochi, Stela Leuka and key specialists of the Project Management Group.
The purpose of the mission is to increase the efficiency of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to improve the processes of production and dissemination of statistical information.
Recall that in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 3, 2020 No. PP — 4796, the "National Strategy for the Development of Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2025" was approved, developed with the support of experts from the World Bank.
The meeting also discussed the work on preparing for the population census. Following the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue cooperation within the framework of this project.
