Today, on October 9 of this year in Warsaw, Poland, a meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians (CES), organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), began.
Representatives of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Statistics Division, the UK National Statistics Office, Statistics Canada, Statistical Office of Poland and other prestigious international organizations are participating in this meeting. Representatives of the delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by the director of the Statistics Agency, are participating.
For information: The UNECE Conference of European Statisticians (CES) is the world forum for official statistics, second only to the UN Statistical Commission. CES members are the heads of national statistical offices of all 56 countries in the UNECE region. The CES is governed by a Bureau consisting of 9 members from UNECE member countries.
We remind you that on February 14 of this year in Geneva, Switzerland, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, it was officially announced that the Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich was accepted into the Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians.
At the meeting of the Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians, which will take place on October 9-10, the following issues will be discussed:
- management of administrative microdata in individual statistical areas, namely data relevance, climate, environment and energy statistics;
- the UNECE statistical work programme includes statistics on population censuses and migration, statistics on gender issues, child and environmental statistics, as well as linking sources of statistical data;
- included such issues as defining the prospects for the development of official statistics and the Bureau’s work plans.
This prestigious event is a meeting of the members of the Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians, where important decisions are made regarding the activities of the Conference of European Statisticians, its work plans are discussed, the results of the work done are summed up and plans for the future are made.
On the first day of the event, the delegation of the Statistics Agency met with Tiina Luige, Head of the Statistics Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. The parties discussed the publication of the results of the "Global Assessment of the National Statistical System of Uzbekistan", conducted in June 2024 with the support of the UNECE, Eurostat and the European Free Trade Association.
During the event, representatives of the Statistics Agency met and discussed issues of close cooperation in the field of statistics with representatives of the Statistics Division of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, the UK National Statistics Office, Statistics Canada, the Polish Statistical Office and other international organizations.
The Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians continues its work without interruption.
