On September 30 to October 3, 2024, the 10th Seminar on International Labor Migration Statistics in the Asia-Pacific Region was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Statistical Office of Korea (COSTAT).
This workshop was attended by experts from the national statistical offices of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China, Armenia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Georgia, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Nepal, Azerbaijan, Samoa, Fiji, Sri Lanka, as well as representatives of organizations related to this topic, ILO experts on international labor statistics migrations and COSTAT specialists.
Azizjon Adizov, Chief specialist of the Division for the Formation of Summary Analytical Information on Demography, Labor and Gender Statistics, participated in the seminar from the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The seminar participants discussed the latest developments in international labor migration statistics, the key points of the 21st International Conference on Labor Statistics, and also got acquainted with the ILO plans to collect data on international migration for 2023 and 2024 and studied the experience of advanced countries in this area.
