Today, on December 18, a presentation meeting was held at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding the outcomes of the 9th Session of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Committee on Statistics and the 20th Session of the Governing Council of the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from December 9–13 this year.


At the event, the Head of the International Cooperation and Information Exchange Department, Ulug‘bek Noipov, the Head of the Digital Technologies and Development of Interactive Services Department, Shohruh Odilov, and the Head of the Monitoring and Coordination of the Open Data Portal Department, Akrom Sultanov, delivered speeches, sharing new experiences and significant results obtained during the sessions.



It was noted that Uzbekistan was elected for the second term to the Bureau of the ESCAP Committee on Statistics. Additionally, the Uzbek delegation presented reforms in the field of statistics, the implementation of modern technologies, and the use of artificial intelligence and Big Data technologies.


During the visit, a meeting was held with the Head of the ESCAP Statistics Division to discuss the effectiveness of cooperation projects and future plans. Furthermore, meetings with representatives of the National Statistics Offices of Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia were organized, resulting in agreements to exchange experiences and establish mutual cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of applying modern technologies in collecting and processing statistical data, developing the field of open data, and creating favorable conditions for respondents was emphasized. The participants' questions were answered, and views were exchanged.
