On December 20 of this year, the Statistics Department organized a round table on the topic "On the ongoing work on the preparation and conduct of the population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan" at the Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages named after Iskhokhon Ibrat.
The event was attended by employees of the Namangan Region Statistics Department, faculty and students of the Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages faculties.


At the event, Deputy Head of the Statistics Department of Namangan region R. Zhiyanov explained the measures for the preparation and conduct of the population census, the purpose of the population census and the reasons for its necessity.
Also, K. Abdullazhanov, a specialist in the Department of organization and conduct of census processes at the Department of Statistics, stressed that compiling lists of houses in settlements and studying the state of house numbering is one of the most important stages in preparing for the population census in order to conduct it efficiently in accordance with international requirements. The complete and high-quality fulfillment of this task, in turn, will create the basis for the effective conduct of the census.


It should be noted that as a result of this event, we will receive complete and accurate information about the population, age, gender, citizenship, national composition, marital status, education, profession, housing provision, living conditions, labor resources, employment and unemployment, sources of income.
The collected data will serve as an important information base for the targeted development of programs for the socio-economic development of the republic and regions, the creation of new jobs, improving the health of women and children, and providing assistance to families.


At the same time, the results of the population census will serve to form indicators of national sustainable development Goals, increase our country's position in international rankings, attract more foreign investors to our country, further improve the investment climate and increase tourism potential.
