From February 3 to 6, 2025, a regional seminar on the exchange of statistical data and metadata (SDMX) for the Sustainable Development Goals was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, for Central Asian countries.

The seminar was organized for representatives (statisticians and IT specialists with experience working with SDG indicators) from the national statistical offices of Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by Rano Razakova, Senior Specialist of the Division for Statistical Observations of Non-Profit Organizations, Culture, and Tourism of the Social Sector and Sustainable Development Statistics Department, and Oybek Ismailov, Lead Engineer-Programmer of the Digitalization of Statistical Tasks Department at the Development of Digital Technologies and Interactive Services Department, both from the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The main goal of the seminar was to familiarize participants with automated reporting and the dissemination of SDG data using the SDMX standard and the global definition of data structure (DSD). The seminar participants were provided with practical skills in using widely used SDMX data modeling and mapping tools, as well as the opportunity to share their experiences in data exchange and dissemination based on standards.
