On 24–27 November 2025, the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Data and Statistics of Korea (MODS) to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of statistics, exchange experience, and discuss progress within the project “Enhancing Human Capacity in the Field of Statistics.”

Cooperation between the statistical institutions of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on 24 August 2011 in Tashkent. During the MODS delegation’s visit on 15–19 May 2023, a trilateral cooperation memorandum was signed between the Committee’s Institute for Training and Statistical Research, the Statistical Training Institute, and the MODS Statistical Research Institute.

The main purpose of the recent meeting was to review the results achieved in 2025 under the project funded by the Korean “Official Development Assistance” grant. As part of the project, staff of the National Statistics Committee took part in training programmes in Uzbekistan and Korea, and a modern computer training room was launched at the Training and Statistical Research Institute.

The parties also developed and agreed on a “Master plan” for 2025–2028 and discussed further areas of cooperation.
