On December 28, 2021, an awarding ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the “Open Data Challenge 2021” hackathon took place in Tashkent, as well as the announcement of the winner of the “Open Data Cup” competition.

Recall that the hackathon organized by IT Park and the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan, the Dubai Future Foundation, IT Academy, the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Committee  Of the Republic of Uzbekistan according to statistics, was held from 3 to 5 December 2021.

This year, the “Open Data Challenge 2021” hackathon was held as part of Youth Month.

The award ceremony was attended by Deputy Director of IT Park for Innovative Development Jahangir Rajabov, National Project Advisor to the OSCE Coordinator in Uzbekistan Murod Khusanov, Head of the Department for Monitoring and Coordination of the Open Data Portal of the State Committee on Statistics Akrom Sultanov, as well as Head of the Department for Innovation and ICT Development  at the Agency for Youth Affairs Fazliddin Bakhromov.

Also, project manager Konstantin Kim, who had an internship at Google and Microsoft, was invited to the event.  Konstantin shared his experience with the participants and talked about what you can do after the hackathon and what are the possible options for the development of the project and also talked about his Exit for $ 100,000 at age 19 with an open data project.

The first places in each direction received $11,000, and 2-3 places - valuable prizes in the form of Yandex stations, laptops, backpacks and other gifts.

The results of the “Open Data Cup” competition were also announced, where the winner was the “NLS” project - a mobile application for recognizing Braille and images captured with a smartphone camera without using special equipment based on open datasets of double-sided images and Braille characters.

In addition, a competition for the best photo with hashtags # OpenData2021 #OpenDataUzbekistan was organized at the award ceremony.  The winner with the most likes received an INSTAX camera.
