On March 1 this year, an event on the issues of maintaining gender statistics was organized at the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was attended by employees of the Agency of Statistics, representatives of relevant ministries and departments.
At the event, Deputy Director of the Agency for Statistics Zakhidjon Ziyaev emphasized that in recent years the country has been carrying out a large-scale reform aimed at ensuring gender equality, achieving equal rights and opportunities for women and men, social and legal support for women, and work is underway to maintain a gender statistics.
Information was also provided on the ongoing work within the framework of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 7, 2019 No. PP-4235 “On measures to further strengthen guarantees of labor rights and support for women’s entrepreneurial activities”.
The meeting participants also exchanged views on the state of formation and presentation of the “target indicators for the strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030”, approved by the Resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 28, 2021 No. PS-297-IV.
After that, Zoir Yuldashev, head of the Department of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, made a presentation about the gender.stat.uz website and the information posted on it.

As a result of the meeting, cooperation was established to further improve the work of collecting, compiling and publishing data on gender statistics to users.
