Today in Samarkand, in cooperation with the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Representative Office of the International Organization for Migration in Uzbekistan, a round table is being held on the topic “Statistical information on migration: current practice and plans for the future”.


The round table is attended by high-level representatives of the statistical departments of the Central Asian countries, including representatives of the delegation headed by the Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bahodyr Abdusalomovich Begalov, IOM specialists and experts, as well as the relevant state bodies of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan, IOM regional office in Vienna.


At the event, the director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich, thanking the representative office of the International Organization for Migration in Uzbekistan for cooperation in organizing the event, congratulated the participants on their visit to Uzbekistan and spoke about the importance of international meetings on this topic, the relevance of statistical data related to migration.


Also, the heads of departments of the Agency for Statistics Odiljon Mamadaliev and Zoir Yuldashev made presentations for the participants on the work on the formation of statistical data on migration in our country, on the work to improve the structure and quality of data, as well as on the tasks that should be implemented in the future, and provided detailed answers to questions.
