On May 19, 2023, a presentation was held at the Agency on Statistics on the implementation of the methodology for the degree of urbanization level.
The presentation was made by Sardar Huseynov, chief specialist of the department for organizing and conducting census processes, and Zufar Toymasov, chief specialist of the department of interactive public services for the development and informatization of information and communication technologies of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The speakers spoke in detail about the results of the training seminar on the implementation of the methodology for assessing the degree of urbanization, organized by the UN Department of Statistics, UN-Habitat and the European Commission in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, on May 8-12 this year.
They also commented on the issues of introducing a methodology for assessing the level of urbanization, dividing urban and rural areas on a scientific basis, conducting a census using GIS technologies, and using GIS technologies when announcing the results of a population census.
At the end of the seminar, the participants received answers to their questions.
