In Bangkok, Thailand, on June 5-9, 2023, the Third Panel Meeting on the theme "Expert Forum for Producers and Users of Disaster Statistics" was hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

This meeting was attended by representatives of Australia, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Fiji, Vanuatu, Kiribati, New Zealand, Pakistan, India, Iran, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Georgia and Uzbekistan.

It was attended by the head of the department of statistical observations in the field of education, health, science and innovation of the Social Sphere and Sustainable Development Statistics Department of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shaikhali Abdurakhmanov.

As well as experts from the Economic and the UN Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the UN Refugee Office, the United Nations Children's Fund, the World Health Organization, the World Bank and other international organizations.

The Council discussed disaster statistics in the Asia-Pacific region: improving disaster statistics for indicators 1, 11 and 13 of the Sustainable Development Goals.
