Today, in our country, the issue of women and gender equality has become one of the important directions of the policy of our country. Therefore, special attention is paid to increasing the socio-political activity of women, protecting their rights and legitimate interests, creating decent living and working conditions, and further supporting entrepreneurial initiatives.

The Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted the award ceremony for the winners of the national competition "Gender Equality Activist - 2022".
It was attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Women's Affairs and Gender Equality of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Family and Women's Affairs, the management and staff of the Agency for Statistics.

The event was opened by the Director of the Agency for Statistics Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich, who spoke about the high attention paid to gender equality in our country.

After that, the Chairman of the Committee on Women's Affairs and Gender Equality of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Malika Akbarovna Kadyrkhanova and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Family and Women's Affairs Nurmatova Mukarram Ahmedovna gave a detailed explanation to the Agency staff about the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic Uzbekistan in connection with the further improvement of the system of reliable protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women and children.

As part of the event, an awards ceremony was held for the winners of the national competition "Gender Equality Activist".
The Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was awarded a 1st degree diploma in the nomination "The best site or portal on the Internet aimed at promoting gender equality" as well as memorable gifts.

For reference, today in all sections of the site "Gender.stat.uz" a total of more than 180 indicators of gender statistics are available in 3 languages, in 5 different formats, and the content and quality of information is constantly being improved.

Also, the Agency of Statistics annually publishes the statistical collection "Women and Men".

Information on gender statistics is published on the agency's websites in the form of press releases, in the media in the form of articles, videos, as well as in the form of infographics and topics on social networks.
