On July 26 of this year, an expanded meeting of the Board was held at the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan following the results of the second quarter of 2023. It was attended by the leadership of the Statistics Agency, the leadership of the Personal Training and Statistical Research, heads of sectoral and territorial Statistics Departments, as well as employees of territorial Statistics Departments via remote videoconference.
According to the agenda, the Director of the Statistics Agency Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich, opened the meeting of the Board, spoke about the tasks assigned to the statistics bodies in the documents and instructions of the President and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the effectiveness of the work carried out in the system in the II quarter of 2023.
Also at the meeting, information was provided on tasks assigned to the statistical authorities on the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve and develop the national statistical system of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated August 3, 2020 and the “National Strategy for the Development of Statistics for 2020–2025”.
During the online meeting, instructions were given on the work being carried out within the framework of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated November 11, 2020 No. 710 “On measures to prepare and conduct a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023”, priority tasks for ensuring the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “ About the population census” were discussed.
There was also an exchange of views on the content and significance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On official statistics”, changes and concepts introduced by the law into practice.
Following the meeting of the Board, organizational issues and executive discipline were considered. It was also decided to take appropriate measures in relation to employees who did not fulfill their duties in a timely manner and to encourage employees whose work is exemplary.
