On November 1 of this year, an extended meeting of the Board was held at the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the results of the third quarter of 2023. It was attended by the leadership of the Statistics Agency, the leadership of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Statistical Research, heads of sectoral and territorial Statistics Departments, as well as employees of territorial Statistics Departments via remote video communication.
According to the agenda, Director of the Statistics Agency Begalov Bakhodir Abdusalomovich, opening the meeting of the Board, spoke about the tasks assigned to the statistical authorities in documents and instructions of the President and Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the effectiveness of the work carried out in the system in the third quarter of 2023.
Also at the meeting, in accordance with the agenda, on the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve and develop the national statistics system of the Republic of Uzbekistan” dated August 3, 2020 and the “National Strategy for the Development of Statistics for 2020–2025” information was provided on tasks assigned to statistical bodies.
At an organized online meeting, instructions were given on the work carried out within the framework of the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 710 dated November 11, 2020 “On measures to prepare and conduct a population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023”, priority tasks to ensure the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “ About the population census."
Also, an exchange of views took place on the content and significance of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Official Statistics”, changes and concepts introduced by the law into practice.
Following the meeting of the Board, organizational issues and executive discipline were considered. Also, it was decided to reward employees who performed their work approximately, and appropriate measures were taken against employees who did not fulfill their duties in a timely manner.
