The fifth international seminar "Measuring the Digital Economy" was held in Xiamen, People's Republic of China, on May 29-31 this year. It was organized jointly by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the National Bureau of Statistics of China and the Global Center for Big Data and Data Science for Official Statistics in Hangzhou.

The event was attended by representatives of the UN Statistics Office, the National Bureau of Statistics of China, experts in the field of national statistics from Morocco, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Pakistan, India, Azerbaijan and other countries.
The seminar was also attended by the Deputy Head of the Department of Business Environment Surveys and Entrepreneurship Statistics of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gulboev Komiljon Rozikovich.
The main objective of the seminar was to provide general information on the concept, scope, importance and possibilities of statistical measurements in the statistical system, production and trade of e-commerce, digital resources, goods and services of information and communication technologies (ICT).

Also, during the event, international methodologies, classifications, statistical technologies and best practices for measuring and analyzing various aspects of the digital economy were discussed.
