On July 25-26 of this year, the 105th anniversary of the National Statistical Office of Georgia and a conference on gender statistics were held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The international conference was attended by heads of statistical departments of the member States of the European Union, high-ranking representatives of Central Asian states and international organizations. The event was also attended by representatives of Georgian government agencies, non-governmental organizations, academia and international organizations of Georgia.

The Republic of Uzbekistan was represented by the head of the Information Service of the Statistics Agency – the press secretary of the Director, Advisor on information Policy Abdurasulov Usmon Rustamovich.

On the first day of the conference, the 105th anniversary of the National Statistical Office of Georgia was celebrated.

During the sessions on gender statistics, the conference participants discussed various topics, including the management of gender data for effective decision-making, time use surveys, measuring the gender wage gap, the results of surveys on violence against women and girls, the gender equality index, improving gender equality and much more.

At the international conference, the exchange of experience in the field of gender statistics between the participating States took place.
