On August 13 of this year, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the Academy of Information and Communication Technologies of the People's Republic of China (CAICT) and HUAWEI company.
The event was attended by employees of the central office headed by Deputy Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ziyaev Zokhidjan Muratovich, as well as the head of the delegation, Director of the Digital Economy Planning Department of the Academy "CAICT" Lina Xie and responsible staff of the Academy, as well as senior manager of the Department of Entrepreneurship of Uzbekistan Huawei Luo Yuexian and responsible employees of this company.
The main purpose of this event was to develop and discuss a methodology for determining the share of the digital economy in gross domestic product (GDP) and the level of digitalization of economic sectors.
For reference: as a result of consistent reforms in the field of digital technologies, the share of the information economy and e-commerce sector in the country's GDP has increased almost 2 times over the past four years.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation within the framework of this project.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
