On September 10, 2024, a presentation was held at the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, highlighting the outcomes of a regional training seminar that took place from September 3-6, 2024, in Chiba, Japan. The seminar, organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), focused on the 5th and 16th Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular attention to crime statistics from a gender perspective.
At the presentation, Jakhongir Kambarov, Deputy Head of the Department of Social Sphere and Sustainable Development Statistics, who participated in the seminar, discussed improvements in the system for incorporating gender components into crime statistics, the use of various data sources, and the application of technology to measure violence. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing the capacity to produce SDG indicators using microdata and improving work in this area.
