On January 28, 2021, the State Committee on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the khokimiyat of the Yashnabad district held a round table on the topic “Ongoing work on the population census in 2023”.
It was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics, Ziyadullayev Mahmudjon Jurakulovich, Khakim of the district Yashnabad Bakhtiyor Rahmonkulov Goskomstat staff, administration and management of statistics of the city of Tashkent, local community activists and representatives of the media.
The round table was opened with introductory remarks by the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics Ziyadullayev Mahmudjon Jurakulovich.
The event was also attended by the Khokim of Yashnabad district Bakhtiyor Rakhmonkulov, the head of the department for organizing and conducting census processes of the State Committee on Statistics Kobil Berdikulov and others.
As noted at the meeting, the census is a large-scale national event that allows you to take a “photo” of the country's population over a certain period of time and is a reliable source of information about the population.
The data of each citizen is of primary importance in conducting a population census, since, first of all, detailed data are collected on such indicators as the specific population, age, gender, citizenship, national composition, marital status, education, level of housing security, employment, sources of income.
The population census in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be conducted from 1 to 25 November 2023. Also, in order to test the population census process and all regulatory documents, from November 1 to 25, 2021, a pilot population census will be conducted in the Khojaabad district of Andijan region, Yukori Chirchik district of Tashkent region, Khiva city of Khorezm region and Yashnabad district of Tashkent city.
At the end of the event, Goskomstat specialists provided detailed information on the issues of interest to the participants.
